Gospel singing for funerals, memorials and graveside farewells — choir and solo.
Beebee Bassey’s voice was formed in church. Born into a Pentecostal family and singing from the age of thirteen, she grew up leading worship, standing with the choir, and stepping out on her own when a solo was needed. That gospel foundation still sits at the centre of her work: songs of faith, comfort, and the hope of resurrection, offered with the same fire and tenderness that mark her recordings.
Families book Beebee when they want singing that feels like church — not a performance pasted onto a service, but ministry that holds a room. She works with congregations and choirs, and she also sings alone. Both have a place: a choir can lift a hymn until the whole sanctuary is singing; a solo can carry a favourite gospel song when the family needs one voice to speak for everyone.
In the sanctuary she is used to working with the church organ. The organ sets the pace and the weight of the hymn; Beebee follows it, filling the space without fighting it. Traditional hymns, contemporary worship and her own gospel writing can all sit in the same service if that is what the family and minister ask for.
When the service moves outside, she brings her own PA. Graveside farewells are quieter and more exposed. A small, reliable system means the voice still carries over wind and distance without becoming theatrical. It is the same ministry in a different room: a final song at the graveside, clear enough for those standing closest and gentle enough for those who can only listen from a few steps back.
For families and funeral directors in Coventry
Beebee is a Coventry-based funeral singer. Venue and rock dates are listed under Events. Funeral bookings are hymn and gospel ministry — church, memorial and graveside — not a concert set. Beebee is based in Coventry and travels to churches and cemeteries across Coventry and Warwickshire.
Hymns and gospel are the centre of funeral bookings: traditional hymns, contemporary worship, and Beebeeās own gospel writing if the family and minister ask for it. Should a family require other songs to be performed, that can be arranged.
